City Club Takes on the World

Submitted by lmcshane on Wed, 11/05/2014 - 09:05.

Epistemology.  How do you know what you know?  In the past, the print media controlled much of what we knew and our thought process on issues.  Has that changed with the Internet and citizen reporting?

Clark Ave TLCI Survey - another exercise in futility

Submitted by lmcshane on Thu, 10/30/2014 - 08:11.

A handful of folks who actually live in and around Clark Ave. (I counted MAYBE 10) showed up last night at the old Gruss Hall across from St. Michael's to attend a Transportation for Livable Communities meeting.  Four council reps are part of this "planning" exercise - including from west to east : Matt Zone, Joe Cimperman, Brian Cummins and Anthony Brancatelli.  Zone and Cimperman were no shows.

Restoring HOPE

Submitted by lmcshane on Wed, 10/01/2014 - 08:07.

Joan Southgate is an amazing woman and Cleveland is lucky to have her.  Thanks to the efforts of Restore Hope - Cozad House in University Circle has been saved as a reminder of our pre-Civil War history.  A touchstone for generations, preserved to help us see life as it was in 1800s Cleveland.

Historic Bank Building in Old Brooklyn being stripped for Marble

Submitted by lmcshane on Mon, 07/14/2014 - 09:32.

I walked by the historic bank building at corner of Pearl and Broadview today - looking in the window - it appears that the building is being systematically stripped of the marble wall trim.  The interior is very reminescent of the United Bank Building - which was renovated to house Crop restaurant.   The building is listed with CBRE commercial real estate.  http://www.cbre.com/EN/findproperty/Pages/default.aspx

Today, I received a happy surprise, as a neighbor gave me flowers.  Sometimes, it doesn't suck to live in the City of Cleveland.

Lake Erie Living

With the Metroparks takeover of our lakefront parks - more and more of us are awakening to the fact that we have been deprived access to this resource for years.

Hey Republican National Convention organizers - we are so rolling out the red carpet for you ! We're LOOKING GOOD!

Here's the gateway to the ZOO ! You know, the number one tourist destination in Northeast Ohio!!! We made sure to keep everything "green" - the way our councilman prefers it! And, tell your friends: we bend over ass backward to accommodate for developers like Peter Rubin-Coral Group, the Ratners at Forest City, and Mitch Schneider. ENJOY the scenery :)

Inspiring Civic Engagement - Alonzo Mitchell turns 33

Submitted by lmcshane on Tue, 05/20/2014 - 12:53.

Alonzo Mitchell III is an amazing young-ish man.  He looks younger than his 33 years and he is the catalyst for a ground swell of positive energy in CLE.  Without foundations, without powerful connections - Alonzo Mitchell III returned to Cleveland with enthusiasm and pride in his hometown.  He translated this energy into the marketing juggernaut Ohio Homecoming.

Good Enough - Repair Mentality in CLE

Submitted by lmcshane on Sun, 04/27/2014 - 16:21.

Theoretically - City of Cleveland has ordinance on books that would put electric wires underground - but that is too much work and when old poles rot, well then, CPP will replace, but has issues w/other stuff attached to their poles and this is the result -  GOOD ENOUGH!!

Massive Criminal Enterprise - CDCs are inherently corrupt -pass through Fed monies to Developers

Submitted by lmcshane on Sun, 01/26/2014 - 00:30.
Somewhere along the way, many of us at REALNEO, became aware of a real estate scheme that was hatched many years ago-using OPM-other people's money. For anyone, who might tune into REALNEO and write-off or marginalize the content here, please take a minute to review my personal history, which has led me to the conclusion that there is a massive criminal enterprise at work here.
