The Cuyahoga County Planning Commission will give a presentation of the Southern Bridge Alignment "Signature Bridge" plan to the Cleveland City Planning Commission on Friday, December 16. The planning commission meeting will start at 9:00 am at Cleveland City Hall in Room 514.
It is important for all interested parties to attend this presentation and learn about the details of the Southern Bridge Alignment Plan. There will also be an opportunity to voice your comments and make them part of the public record. Participants should also put their comments in writing and submit them to the Cleveland City Planning Commission and to ODOT. The Cleveland City Planning Commission must take public opinion into consideration before making any decisions on ODOT's "Recommended Preferred Alternative" for the Northern Bridge Alignment Plan.
ODOT is hiring the bridge designers for its "Recommended Preferred Alternative" for the Northern Bridge Alignment on Monday , December 12. Therefore, ODOT is hiring the bridge designers four days prior to the Cleveland City Planning Commission's first comprehensive assessment of the Southern Bridge Alignment Plan. That plan was submitted by the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission in March 2003 and ODOT removed it from futher consideration in June 2005, because it would impact a church. Since that time ODOT has acknowledged that the church does not have to be taken by the Southern Bridge Alignment Plan, but it has not reconsidered the plan- yet.
