LOOK WHO'S GOT POSITIVE ATTITUDE!

THE DOAN BROOK GORGE JUST ABOVE MLK BOULEVARD ISN'T ON THE SHAKER LAKES REGIONAL NATURE CENTER'S CUSTOMARY TOUR. THE AREA IS DIFFICULT TO GET INTO, VERY PRIVATE, BUT APPARENTLY APPRECIATED BY THIS ANONOMOUS PETROGRAPHIST. NOT LOOKING FOR A COMMISSION, NOR A GRANT FROM THE GUND FOUNDATION, NOR GALLERY SPACE, NOR SALES - YOU'VE GOT TO ADMIRE THE INDIVIDUAL'S ENERGY, DEDICATION, AND PASSION.

IS AEROSOL LACQUER ON A CONCRETE RETAINING WALL AN "APPROPRIATE" EXPRESSION IN THIS "NATURAL" AREA? IS IT DESTRUCTIVE OF THE "NATURAL" AREA? WHAT IS A BETTER USE OF THIS CONCRETE PALETTE? WOULD I WANT IT ON THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE? WOULD I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PAINT AS DRAMATICALLY?

ARE THE ONLY APPROPRIATE OUTLETS FOR INDEPENDENT EXPRESSION AND POLITICAL SPEACH THOUGH COMMERCIAL PUBLICATIONS AND THE CULTURALLY CORRECT MEDIUMS? SEZ WHO? ARE TELEVISION AND THE PLAIN DEALER GRAFITTI?

Aug 2, 2007 Note: The image may not be the original image which first went up with this post.  I noticed that the original image no longer appeared, somehow its url became detached, so I have today uploaded one of the original images I took in the Doan Brook at the time the December 2004 post went on the internet.

LOOK WHO'S GOT POSITIVE ATTITUDE!

I don't want it on my garage - I want it in my office... living

Great image, Jeff - and I share your perspective. This is very do-able. The Aerosol art world is tight, collaborative and connected so it will be easy to build a community, and they are respected in the art world - key to the true "Cool Cleveland". Their art will easily get market traction and artisitic following, and there is plenty of space to show and sell their work, from existing galleries and the Internet to unlimited miles of concrete walls around the region. Just need some leadership and initiative. Any thoughts on next steps?

PHOTO IS DISCONNECTED - NEED A LITTLE CODE TWEEK

Hello Derek,
This is one of the earlier posts that has lost its image connection. Mitsubishi turbine post is another.  When you get a chance. maybe you can monkeywrench the code into shape to reconnect with the image urls - if that's the problem.  Norm knows more about when (date)  the disconnect happened but it was about a year ago.   Keeping a web site going is like keeping an old jalopy running down the road.

Thanks for your help,

Jeff

More like an out of tune Ferrari

Jeff (and all others) make sure you send a message to Derek on this and other tech issues and suggestions - use private messaging or contact from his user profile. REALNEO got to be like a classic Ferrari that didn't get tuned up in a long time, so now Derek is rebuilding the engine, transmission, and adding air-bags, A/C, a DVD, and a kill'a stereo - while converting it to run on vegi-oil - lots of overdue maintenance and upgrades and enhancements. If you hear a squeak - feel a rattle - know of a rust spot - tell the mechanic and stay on it until it is fixed - coming out of the shop it will be the hottest ride in the world!

BTW - in this process, Derek is also going to Ferrari school, hitting Silicon Valley to work with the designers and engineers of the vehicle to help create the REAL NEO ride into the future, so expect to hit warp speed into cyberspace soon.
